Help Is Near is a free public service that helps people find local organisations that can support them — with practical needs like food and money, and with more sensitive situations like feeling unsafe at home.

You don't need to know what kind of organisation you're looking for, or use any particular terminology. You can tell us what's happening in your own words, and we'll help point you towards organisations that can help.

Who runs Help Is Near

Help Is Near is operated by CrisisConnect Network CIC, a community interest company. CrisisConnect Network CIC exists to help local support organisations work together — sharing referrals, reducing duplicated effort, and making it easier for people to find the right support the first time.

The information shown on Help Is Near comes directly from organisations in the CrisisConnect Network, who choose what information about their services to make public here. Organisations remain independent — Help Is Near doesn't provide services itself, it helps people find organisations that do.

Help Is Near is powered by CrisisConnect, a platform used by voluntary and community sector organisations to manage referrals, services, and their work together as a network. Help Is Near is the public window into that same shared record of who provides what support and where — so when an organisation updates their information once, it's accurate everywhere it's shown, including here.

What Help Is Near is not

Help Is Near is not an emergency service, and it cannot respond to someone in immediate danger. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999.

Help Is Near does not hold personal case records, and organisations' internal client information is never part of this public site.
