Accessibility statement

Help Is Near is built and run by CrisisConnect Network CIC. We want this site to be usable by everyone, including people using assistive technology, people with low vision, people who find reading difficult, and people using the site under stress.

Our aim

We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 at level AA. In practice, this means:

• The site can be used with a keyboard alone, and every interactive control shows a visible focus outline.
• Text and interface colours are chosen to meet minimum contrast requirements.
• Every form field has a visible, associated label.
• Touch targets are large enough to use comfortably on a phone.
• Content is written in plain language, without requiring voluntary-sector terminology.
• The site does not rely on colour alone to convey meaning.
• Animation is avoided unless it genuinely helps understanding.

Known limitations

This is a new service. If you find something that doesn't work well with a screen reader, keyboard, or other assistive technology, please let us know using the contact details on the About page, and we'll aim to fix it.
